Types of Agricultural Machinery

Types of Agricultural Machinery - Agricultural machinery refers to the machines used to perform various agricultural activities.

The use of machines in various jobs that started in the Middle Ages during the industrial age has changed in modern times.

It is important to understand that modern automated technology has introduced different types of machines to perform different tasks on farms.

Many jobs can be completed in a few hours with these machines. A classification of types of agricultural machinery can be found below.

Types of Agricultural Machinery

  • Mowers
  • Backhoe
  • Harrow
  • Cultivator
  • Rake
  • Tractor
  • Combine Harvester
  • Sprayers
  • Chain Saw
  • Brush cutters
  • Saw Mills

Mowers

A mower is a machine that cuts grass or other plants that grow on the ground. Harvesting is fundamentally different from threshing which uses a similar tool but is the traditional term for harvesting grain.

A riding mower to maintain your lawn or pasture choose from a belly-mounted zero-turn mower or a walk-behind mower.

If you are making hay you will need a scythe or disc mower. Beater brush cutters and straw cutters should be considered for your farm equipment collection for larger areas.

Backhoe

Augers are ideal for earthworks such as drilling holes in fences or digging small ponds and reservoirs. If you need tools to dig a hole a backhoe is the tool for you. Buckets are available as separate hydraulic equipment for a variety of tractors.

Harrow

The shovel is designed to level the soil surface by pulling it behind a tractor or ATV.

Cultivator

A farmers main tasks include preparing the right seeds for planting crops burying crop residues in the ground (to help warm the soil before planting) controlling weeds and ensuring growth.

Combine the soil. During the growing season the crop needs water and nutrients to grow well. The equipment is equipped with several tanks at the bottom of the metal frame and with small trees at the rear of the machine that smooth the surface of the soil for easy movement during subsequent planting.

Rakes

If you are making hay and hay there are many types of rakes including wheel rakes parallel rakes rotating rakes belt rakes.

Tractor

Tractors come in many sizes and are very versatile farm equipment. Of course you should choose one with the right amount of horsepower and the right punch for the job you plan to use it for.

Two Wheel Tractors – Also known as wheel tractors can be used with a variety of attachments including balers rotary planter wagons bed shapers and more.

Combine Harvester

A modern combiner is a versatile machine designed for efficient harvesting simply by combining different grains.

The name is derived from a combination of three different collection features. Harvesting and plowing in one operation.

Crops harvested include wheat oats rye barley maize (corn) sorghum soybeans flax sunflower and rapeseed. Separate straw is the stems left in the field and leftover crop leaves that contain limited amounts of nutrients. use

Sprayer

A sprayer is a device used to apply herbicides pesticides and fertilizers to crops. Sprinkler sizes vary. From a portable unit (usually a backpack with a spray gun) to a follow-on sprayer mounted on a tractor

ChainSaw

Bonds are very expensive and are widely used in rural and other areas where they are needed. They are marked with rotating tines attached to the rotating chain on the rotating shaft.

Cylinder engines with batteries or gasoline are necessary to run chains. A band saw is a portable hand machine used for a variety of wood/metal work.

This versatile unit can cut any large or thick material. Chains are a dangerous tool and must be used with care.

Brush Cutter

A brush cutter (also called a brush saw or pruning saw) is a tool used in gardening or agriculture to trim weeds from young trees and other foliage that are inaccessible to a lawn mower or rotary mower. Various blades or trimming heads can be fitted to the machine for specific applications.

Saw Mill

A sawmill or sawmill is a device for cutting logs of wood. Modern sawmills use power saws to cut logs to length to standard or custom sizes to create long pieces and crosscut them. Portable sawmills are easy to operate.

The log is laid flat on a steel bed the electric saw cuts the log horizontally along the length of the bed and the operator manually clamps the saw. The most basic type of saw involves an adjustable jig that has a horizontal action similar to a chain saw.
